“Perfect imperfection”. This conceptual phrase sums up exactly the intention of Kaatje Sandra, the designer of the most underground and exclusive children’s brand on the market.

This beautiful coat is in 44% cotton and 66% bamboo. It has a deconstructed shape and a collar that you can wear open or closed at the neck; one part is rounded and the revers are pointed. The buttons are deconstructed, sewn diagonally and don’t seem to line up correctly, creating a ‘conceptual’ kind of pleat. A rectangular flap makes an interesting feature on the right shoulder, and, on the cuffs, there are two square pieces that are longer on one side. The coat has two big pockets on the side as well as a vent at the back. Then there’s a buttonhole in an incongruous place. Where? Behind the collar! |
