Quentin Blake is a hero from across the Atlantic. He has already worn out a huge number of pencils because he published his first satirical drawing in Punch when he was just 16 years old. His dynamic and colourful graphic style is admired by many authors, amongst them Roald Dahl and John Yeoman. He has been Director of the Royal College of Art - where he founded the illustration department - and in 1999 he became the first Ambassador-Laureat for children’s books, after having put his mark on more than 200 books.
