Polder, literally meaning a tract of low land found in the Netherlands, sounds as if it could be Nordic. Madelon and Natalie, neither of them completely French or completely Dutch, have retained a creative edge from studying in France and a quintessential influence from their native Holland. After a decade of experience in the Parisian fashion world, the two sisters, who are very close, launched their own label : a collection of leather bags and accessories with structured and simple lines. A painting may define an atmosphere, a photograph may show a range of colours; this season, the ballet pump, a classic that’s had many different designs, is now available in yellow and gold and leather bags come in navy blue.
