Created in 1935, Seuil Publishing tooks its name from the French word for ‘doorway’ as this represented its objective: “The doorway encompasses all the emotion of leaving and arriving.” (Letter from the Abbot Plaquevent). We have chosen children’s books that are unique and from authors and artists, who have been rediscovered by the publishing house. Bruno Munari, Taro Gomi, Paul Cox, Enzo Mari … These books are real artefacts, illustrated with talent and originality, and they are both humorous and poetic at the same time.
